Maryland Deadline Extension

Maryland Deadline Extension

Maryland announced yesterday an extension of the tax income filing deadline for individuals, pass-through entities, fiduciary, and corporate income tax returns that would have been due March 15 or April 15, 2021. This extension also includes the deadline for the first and second quarter estimated payments that are now due to be paid by July 15. Just like last year, no interest or penalties will be assessed if returns are filed, and taxes owed are paid by the new deadline of July 15, 2021.

The deadline for Sales and Use Tax returns has also been revised. Any SUT returns for sales taking place in March, April and May of 2021 will now be due on July 15, 2021. Taxes are also due to be paid by July 15, 2021.

It is important to note that this deadline extension only applied to Maryland returns. The IRS has not announced an extension of the tax deadlines at this time!
