Baltimore Sister Cities

Shawn Burman was elected treasurer for Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, which entails the oversight of all financial functions for the organization and seven Sister Cities. Their mission is to promote mutual economic development, educational, cultural, health/environmental and other cooperation and exchanges between Baltimore, Maryland and its international Sister Cities.

In addition, he is the Sister Cities liaison to the World Trade Center Institute which aims to increase the international business exposure of Baltimore to its various Sister Cities.  This entails connecting foreign and domestic international businesses with embassy diplomats and Baltimore government officials to find dynamic ways to increase international investment between our Sister Cities.

Shawn also sits on the Baltimore Rotterdam Sister City committee where his passion is to create cultural exchanges on specific environmental projects to further sustainability, green energy, and trash awareness between Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Baltimore.
